Deema is a senior Speech and Language Therapist who graduated in 2016 from Jordan University of Science and Technology, Jordan.
Deema has 9 years of experience working in Jordan and primarily in Saudi Arabia, dealing with a wide variety of pediatric speech, language, communication, swallowing, and feeding disorders. Her expertise spans neurological and developmental conditions, including cerebral palsy, syndromes, autism, ADHD, and more.
She has significant experience in early intervention programs and is highly skilled in assessing speech and language disorders to prepare tailored therapy plans for individual cases. Deema also specializes in neurological speech and language disorders.
Deema holds the following certifications:
- Oral Placement Therapy (TalkTools) Level 1: Skilled in using tools to assess and treat feeding disorders by providing sensory and tactile input.
- Electrical Stimulation for Dysphagia Management (NMES/TNS): Certified for both pediatric and adult cases.
She is highly skilled in treating motor speech disorders such as apraxia and dysarthria. Deema also has expertise in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems, including apps like Livox, Al Motahadith Al Arabi, Bab Noor, LetMeTalk, and Eye-Gaze TD Snap.
Deema has advanced training in voice therapy for velopharyngeal dysfunction and resonance disorders, using evidence-based tools such as the Breather and EMST device.
Additionally, she is trained in applying Arabic standardized assessment tools such as the School Readiness Assessment and JAT Articulation Test, certified by the Jeddah Institute for Speech and Hearing (JISH).
Deema is proficient in conducting hearing screenings using tools like the otoscope, tympanogram, and audiometer to rule out hearing impairments before initiating speech therapy. She also has experience with the Auditory Verbal Therapy (AVT) program.
Furthermore, Deema is trained in the Lidcombe Program, an effective treatment for childhood disfluency disorders.
She is highly skilled in evaluating and treating feeding and swallowing disorders (dysphagia) for both pediatric and adult populations, including addressing selectivity in eating.
